Over-The-Counter Hearing Aids

In 2023, there are more options than ever for hearing assistance. What's the right option for you?

If you're considering an over-the-counter hearing aid, the first step is a hearing evaluation. We need to make sure that you don't have a wax blockage or ear drainage or ear pain. We need to make sure that your ears are the same, because if one ear is worse than the other it's a red flag for a medical condition. Other red flags from medical conditions are dizziness sudden changes in hearing one ear feeling blocked or full. These are things that need to be evaluated before moving forward with any type of hearing aid.
So who are over-the-counter hearing aids for? People that have limited resources. In my opinion that's the only reason to move forward with an over-the-counter hearing aid. When we have your hearing evaluation not only do we look at your hearing test but we make fine-tuning adjustments based on how you perceive sound we hear with our brain not with our ears, so the prescriptive hearing aid is going to be more effective and you're going to have more success.

So if you're contemplating over-the-counter hearing aids give us a call. I'd love for you to come in evaluate your hearing and help you make the right decision. We look forward to helping you make life sound better.
